Ohio Online Class A/B Operator Course

Petro Classroom designed this Class A/B Operator training to provide Class A/B Operators with an easy-to-use online training course that can be completed anytime, anywhere, in approximately 4 hours. There are 8 chapters that can be completed at your own pace. You can start, stop and return to the course as your schedule permits.

This course content not only meets, but exceeds the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and each state’s environmental agency requirements for the Class A/B training. Petro Classroom takes great pride in providing operators with the most up-to-date information regarding federal and state regulations.

Ohio has revised their UST regulations to incorporate the 2015 Federal UST Regulations (40 CFR 280).  Ohio UST regulations were effective as of September 1, 2017.  The various deadlines for owners/operators to meet the new requirements will be discussed throughout the training.

Ohio Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) requires that A/B Operators complete a pre-course assessment and a post-course assessment. Class A and B Operators must complete the assessments and the following 8 chapters in order to obtain their Class A/B Certificate of Completion:

Chapter 1: Introduction

Your increased awareness of compliance issues and the operation of your tank system will lead to decreased maintenance costs and increased profits for your facilities. You must complete all the chapters in sequence to receive your certificate of completion.

Chapter 2: Components of Tank Systems

This chapter is an in-depth look at the components of a tank system and common equipment issues that may cause leaks and require regular monitoring, maintenance and repair.

Chapter 3: Release Detection and Reporting

This chapter delves into the various methods of leak detection in compliance with state and federal law and the importance of proper installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment.

This chapter includes a breakout section for operators at marina facilities.

Chapter 8: Inspections

This chapter explains the purpose of inspections, what state inspectors will be looking for and what you should be looking for to keep your facility in compliance with all the state and federal underground storage tank requirements.
